On April 15th of 1969 in London, Hazel held a show of some of her paintings, observing the 57th anniversary of her father’s death on the Titanic, and her 66th birthday, which was later in the month.
She wrote a poem that memorialized the Titanic disaster and her father’s death, and published a 45RPM recording of herself reciting the poem to music. https://youtu.be/fAomkg0iM8o
She published parallel a small commemorative booklet, and on the front above her cover drawing of the copy she sent to my father, she wrote “A Nine Year Old Girl’s Concept of the Titanic” along the top and right margins.
It is a theme that was to be present in many of her paintings throughout her life.
